Medicare Advantage HMO Plans From Amerigroup
What is a Medicare Advantage HMO plan?
Amerigroup offers Medicare Advantage plans that are health maintenance organization plans or HMOs. With an HMO, you choose a doctor from our network for your regular care. They direct you to the right specialists when you need them.
Medicare Advantage plans (also called Medicare Part C) combine Medicare Part A and Part B with more coverage and benefits. That’s because there are a number of things, such as prescription drugs, and dental and vision care, that Original Medicare doesn’t cover.
Can anyone enroll in a Medicare Advantage HMO plan?
Yes, anyone who has Original Medicare can sign up for an HMO plan. After you enroll in Original Medicare, you can choose a Medicare Advantage plan from Amerigroup. You’ll choose a primary care physician (PCP) from our large, reliable network of doctors and care providers, and work with them to find the right specialists.
What are the benefits of a Medicare Advantage HMO plan?
Working with a PCP can help you save on health care visits and costs. A primary doctor who is familiar with your health background, needs and medications can better manage your overall care. A PCP can also help coordinate your care so you don’t waste time and money with the wrong specialist or unnecessary appointments.
