Compliance and Ethics at Amerigroup

Every Associate, Every Decision, Every Day.

We maintain a robust compliance and ethics program consistent with recommendations set forth by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Our program seeks to prevent, detect, and effectively address and resolve potential violations of law, regulation, or company policy, and is evaluated and updated on a routine basis.

The Board of Directors, through its Audit Committee, as well as senior management – including the company’s President and Medicaid Compliance Committee – oversees the company’s national compliance and ethics program. This program includes Standards of Ethical Business Conduct to which all associates must attest, as well as related policies and procedures and various educational communications. The Medicaid Compliance Committee is made up of senior leaders of the Medicaid Business Unit and Government Business Division Shared Services Operations. The committee’s purpose is to provide executive oversight of and support to the Medicaid Compliance Program to ensure its appropriate and effective implementation. The committee meets quarterly to review compliance performance and address issues that require executive leadership oversight. The committee is chaired by Georgia Dodds Foley, Medicaid Compliance Officer.

We provide a number of ways for associates to report potential violations of law, regulation or company policy. In reporting these potential violations, an associate may remain anonymous if he/she wants to do so. No associate can be retaliated against for making a good faith report. We hold ourselves accountable for responding promptly and appropriately to reports of potential violations.

Our compliance and ethics program is an integral part of our company purpose, vision and values and our commitment to open and transparent operations.
