Accreditations
Health Plan Accreditation
We are committed to ensuring quality services are delivered to our members. We voluntarily submit to evaluation by the largest health plan accreditation organizations. Accreditation not only involves a rigorous review of consumer protection and quality improvement systems, but also requires health plans to submit audited data on key clinical and service measures.
We have achieved Commendable Accreditation status from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for our affiliated health plans in Georgia, Virginia and Ohio. Achieving an accreditation status of Commendable from NCQA is a sign that a health plan is serious about quality. It is awarded to plans whose service and clinical quality meet or exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement.
Our Tennessee health plan has achieved Excellent Accreditation status from NCQA. NCQA’s Excellent Accreditation status is reserved for the best health plans in the nation. It is only awarded to those plans that meet or exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement and deliver excellent clinical care.
Our health plans in New Mexico and Nevada are NCQA accredited as New Health Plans. NCQA's New Health Plan Accreditation Program applies to health plans that are less than 36 months old. The program is distinct from NCQA's Health Plan Accreditation Program.
Our Florida plan is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Privacy Accreditations from URAC
Amerigroup’s corporate offices in Virginia Beach, VA as well as our health plans in Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, New Mexico, Tennessee and Texas have achieved Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) HIPAA Privacy Accreditation.
